Yes, I have some red plastic noses too. What shall I do with them?

No mundo são consumidos anualmente 500 biliões de sacos de plástico, os quais levam em média 500 anos a degradarem-se. “Em Portugal, levamos, anualmente, para casa mais de duas mil toneladas de sacos distribuídos ou vendidos nos super e hipermercados, bem como no pequeno comércio", refere em comunicado o Ministério do Ambiente. Em cada loja é nos oferecido mais um saquinho de plástico, que constitui um meio barato de publicidade para quem o distribui, mas com um enorme peso ambiental que não podemos ignorar.

Podemos até reutilizar e reciclar os sacos de plástico mas apenas uma percentagem muito ínfima chega à reciclagem. E o facto de usarmos os sacos de plástico para colocar o nosso lixo, faz com que estes acabem o seu ciclo de vida em aterros, quando não voam e se encontram espalhados por todo o lado. Muitos vão parar ao mar colocando em risco as espécies marinhas.

We should re-use and recycle these bags of plastic, but only a very lowest percentage reaches the recycling. And instead of using these bags of plastic and put them into our garbage, they finish their cycle of life in landscape, if they don't fly away and spread in the see. People must stop putting them where ever thea want, because of the risk of animals in the sea.
